Lake Almanor Kayak Rentals is located on the southern tip of Lake Almanor in the small mountain town of Canyon Dam. Our facility is located next to the general store. We at Lake Almanor Kayak Rentals represent the best opportunity for you to kayak on the many amazing lakes in both Plumas and Lassen Counties. We offer both single kayaks and tandem (two person) kayaks. All necessary gear is provided which includes boats, paddles, life vests, dry bags and a rack system so you can take your kayak to whichever body of water you choose. This would include Lake Almanor, Butt Lake and Mountain Meadows Reservoir. Each lake offers a completely different experience so the choice is yours.

As you having a safe and memorable time is our highest goal, expect us to check in with you and ask a few questions. We want to ensure that the kayaking experience you have in your mind, matches the one you experience.

We believe it's important for you to maximize your experience. With that said, here are some suggestions for you. Please arrive prepared! Show up with food, water, sunscreen, brimmed hat, sunglasses, a long sleeve shirt (UV protected a plus), binoculars and a camera.

Whichever lake you decide to kayak, know that there are bald eagles, osprey, pelicans as well as a whole host of other birds and animals. Kayaking allows one to quietly approach many things otherwise impossible in a power boat.

Rates:

• One person boat half day is $40.00
• One person boat full day is $60.00
• Two person (tandem) boat half day is $60.00
• Two person (tandem) boat full day is $80.00

A deposit is required for all boat rentals. We accept both cash and credit cards for payment and deposits.

As safety is our primary concern you will be given some basic instruction as well as several safety tips when renting our boats. Examples of this would be to stay close to shore, always wear your life vest, do not drink alcohol, be aware of your surroundings, don.t paddle alone, watch the weather, avoid obvious hazards and bring plenty of food and water. If possible, bringing a cell phone is also a good idea in case of emergency. Both Lake Almanor and Mountain Meadows Reservoir are known to have cell signals. Butt Lake does not.

So, come paddle with the eagles and have a day that you will always hold close to your heart.
